In order for us to compete at an international level, there are requirements and expectations if you wish to be considered for a seat on one of our crews.  Here's an overview of the necessary commitment -

• be a fully paid WAM member by January 7th 2022
• pay membership for SAKE and TDBA for 2022, because we use their boats and facilities for training
• weekend training (Sat afternoon in Tacoma or Sun morning at Leschi depending on the week), starting in December
• weeknight training once a week; probably starting in January; this would be 'split group' sessions, with the south group training in Tacoma, and the rest at Leschi, and I alternate the sessions at which I coach
• second weeknight all group session at Leschi starting around February-March
• an average training attendance of 67% for weeknights, and 67% for weekends (ie, showing up for all weeknights, but few weekends, won't work)
• race with us at the Arizona DB Festival, last weekend in March
• race with us at Concord Pacific in Vancouver BC (formerly Alcan) the last weekend in June
• attend all training for the last 6-7 weekends prior to CCWC; at this stage we do 'crew specific' sessions which means in the small boats, honing how each crew works together with tremendous focus on race pieces
• be at crew specific training on July 2nd; this is the July 4th weekend; we will have raced in Vancouver the prior weekend, and need the weekend time for final prep before CCWC
• race at CCWC in Sarasota July 18-24, but we will likely need to be on site around the 15th or 16th

For the last training cycle that just ended, our weeknight sessions ended up being Wednesday at Leschi for the whole group, and split sessions (Tacoma and Leschi) on Thursdays.  The WAM club AGM will be in December (we are our own 501c3), and much of the planning will be ironed out then.  Non-members are welcome to attend our AGM (keep an eye on our events schedule), but will not be entitled to vote on club items.
