A couple of years ago the board voted to require a drill every two years, and this is now our second summer in Renton. To help work with everyone's schedule, we'll schedule capsize drills one each for a Wednesday, Thursday and weekend, most likely late July/early August.
Prior to the drill we will send out documentation that outlines the process, discuss before getting on the boat, and then review afterwards. It has proven to be a really good team building activity, and usually, first-timers find the actual experience to be so much better than the anticipation. We have most people exit the boat, with just a few volunteers who cause it to flip. Feel free to ask questions of those who have done it before.
